Operational Objectives

  1. APRF Board of Directors will manage and direct a scholarship and certification program that distributes a minimum of $5,000
    1. Michael A. Ramnes professional scholarships for NRPA conference of management schools ($750 each)
    2. Dave Bang professional scholarships for a non-NRPA related conference or educational opportunity ($500-$750 each)
    3. College scholarships for full time students enrolled in parks & recreation or other appropriate leisure degree programs ($500 each)
    4. College scholarships for currently employed professionals enrolled in parks & recreation or other appropriate leisure degree programs ($500 each)
    5. Professional certification program or test fees assistance, reimbursement paid upon documented successful completion, on a first come basis until funds are exhausted ($150 each)
  2. APRF will provide up to $4,000 education program assistance funding to the APRA Annual Conference
  3. APRF will provide professional development opportunity funding as possible for APRA education seminars if requested by the APRA Executive Director and the sponsoring committees and branches
  4. APRF will provide funding as possible to support parks, recreation and tourism advocacy if requested by the APRA Executive Director and Legislative Committee
  5. APRF will provide funding as possible to support parks, recreation and tourism research if requested by the APRA Executive Director and Research Committee
  6. APRF will, as opportunities present themselves, provide administrative over-site as a pass-through organization in exchange for a 5% charge, when others want to provide funding to enhance the facilities and programs of the members of the Arizona Parks and Recreation Association and their leisure delivery organizations
  7. APRF will attempt to be visible to the APRA membership through magazine and newsletter articles, conference and seminar signs and speakers, and with a website and other online resources
  8. APRF will use potential APRA members as APRF auxiliary volunteers to assist with its work and build interest and leadership for future Board of Director appointments – a special emphasis will be placed on inclusion of the new Past Presidents and Retirees Alliance as it comes into fruition.
  9. APRF will establish an online annual giving fund
  10. APRF will retain $10,000 in deposited from previous years and add a minimum of 1/3 of its earned revenues for 2023 into this “saved funds” account
